Taddiford Gap: Wind farm cable plan

The undersea cable from the proposed ENECO wind farm on the edge of Poole Bay will run on the Christchurch Bay seabed and land at Taddiford Gap.

This shallow valley, between Beckton Bunny and Hordle, was well defended by concrete dragon’s teeth during the Second World War. They have slowly dropped into the sea and now lie toppled.

The electricity cable will run underground inland to West Moors and Three Legged Cross. There will be much concern over any digging at Taddiford Gap where a footpath crosses farmland to the sea.

‘Taddi’ means ‘toad’ and the ford is the Danes Stream crossing.
