The once remote suburbs of Boscombe and Southbourne have expanded and merged to become part of the large Bournemouth conurbation. There are no more chines except for the so-called Honeycombe Chine. But the two miles of undulating grass cliff top, the remains of the once extensive sand dunes, are home to 600 sand lizards. At the far end is Point House where, according to Blur bass guitarist Alex James, you can enjoy “a world beater” cheese on toast.
